How It Works

Registering Your Studio

Create an account with your email, add your dancers in one list, choose who's attending, and pay your balance any time before the deadline. No passwords, no forms to print.

  1. 1Sign in

    1. Go to beatconvention.com and click Register, or open beatconvention.com/login.
    2. Enter your email and click Email Me A Link.
    3. Open the email "Sign in to THE BEAT", click Sign in, then Continue to my account.

The first sign-in creates your account. The link works once and lasts 15 minutes — request a new one whenever you come back.

  2. 2Set up your profile

    1. Choose A studio, or An independent dancer if you're registering on your own.
    2. Enter the studio or family name, a contact name, phone, city and state. Save.
  3. 3Add your dancers

    1. Open Roster. Add dancers one at a time with the form, or click Import a list.
    2. To import, copy the rows straight out of your spreadsheet and paste them in, or upload a CSV. You need five columns: first name, last name, date of birth, parent name, parent email.
    3. Check the review table. Rows with a problem are flagged and skipped; fix them in your sheet and import again, or add them by hand.

Add everyone you might bring. You choose who's attending in the next step, and you can add more later.

  4. 4Register for the event

    1. Open Events and click Register Dancers on THE BEAT — Long Island.
    2. Tick the dancers attending. Tick Add observer band next to anyone whose parent is coming — it's cheaper than buying the band separately.
    3. Add any extra observer bands, then click Register Selected Dancers.

Registering is free. The total goes on your balance, and you'll get a confirmation email listing everyone.

  5. 5Pay your balance

    1. Your balance and its due date are at the top of the event page.
    2. Click Make A Payment to pay in full, or choose another amount to pay in parts. Come back as often as you like before the deadline.
    3. A receipt is emailed after each payment.

Online payment is switched on shortly. If the button isn't there yet, nothing is due until it is.

  6. 6Changes later

    1. Sign in again with the same email. Add dancers from your roster, or remove a dancer you haven't paid for yet.
    2. Once a dancer has been paid for, reply to any of our emails and we'll make the change and credit your account.

Common Questions

I didn't get the sign-in email.
Check spam, and make sure you typed the address correctly. Links expire after 15 minutes, so request a fresh one if it's been a while.
Can two people from my studio sign in?
The account belongs to one email address. Share that address, or forward the sign-in link — it opens on any device.
Does a dancer need a signed waiver?
Yes, before the event day. We'll email the signing link to each parent closer to the date; it doesn't hold up registration or payment.
What does an observer band cost?
$25 each, unlimited. A dancer registered with a band is $270 instead of $255 + $25.
